Luxury Vinyl Plank Installation in Norfolk & Hampton Roads
Luxury vinyl plank installation is the work we're asked about most, and for good reason. A well-made plank shrugs off spills, pets and the damp that comes with living near the water, and it can look convincingly like wood. Our job is to put a plank in front of you that's worth the money, give you one upfront price that covers furniture moving, tear-out, installation and disposal, and then put it down right the first time.
Luxury vinyl plank installation for homes that live near the water
What a good plank actually does for you
Luxury vinyl plank has earned its place as the floor most Hampton Roads homeowners ask about first. A quality plank holds up to dogs, kids and a busy kitchen. It's quieter and a little softer underfoot than tile. It can carry one continuous look from the front door through the living room and into the kitchen without a single threshold strip. And because the better products use waterproof cores, a spilled glass or a tracked-in puddle is a wipe-up, not a ruined board.
In a part of Virginia where summers are long, hot and humid, that last point matters more than it would in a drier place. Wood-based floors move with the moisture in the air. A rigid-core vinyl plank moves far less, which is a big part of why it has become our lead product.
Where the money goes
Here's the honest part: luxury vinyl plank is a category with an enormous price range, and the bottom of that range is where most of the disappointment lives. A plank with a thin wear layer will show scratches from chair legs within a year or two. A cheap locking system can let joints separate when the house warms up and cools down. A flimsy core shows every low spot in the subfloor.
We're not the cheapest flooring company in the area, and we don't try to be. We'd rather sell you a plank that still looks right in fifteen years than one that wins a price comparison and loses the next summer. When we bring samples to your home, we'll explain what separates the planks in plain terms, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
One price, no games
Every luxury vinyl plank installation we quote is one upfront price. It takes care of moving the furniture, tearing out the old floor, installing the new one and disposing of what came up. No haggling, no hidden charges, and no bait-and-switch where the product on the quote isn't the product that shows up on the truck.

The rooms LVP was made for, and a couple where we'd think twice
Kitchens, baths and laundry rooms
These are the rooms where water resistance earns its keep. Dishwasher drips, a splash from the sink, wet feet coming out of the shower: a waterproof-core plank takes all of it without swelling. In a kitchen it's also easier on dropped dishes and on your legs than porcelain tile.
Open main floors and busy family rooms
If you want one floor running through the whole main level, LVP is hard to beat. It handles pets, toys and sand tracked in from a day at the beach, and a single product from entry to back door makes a house feel bigger and calmer.
Rental and turnover properties
For a property that changes hands or tenants often, a durable plank cuts down on replacement cycles. We'll steer you to a product that balances durability and cost for that use, and we'll be clear about how its warranty compares with the top-tier lines.
Where carpet may still win
Bedrooms and upstairs living spaces are where a lot of people still prefer carpet, for warmth and quiet. If you're on the fence, we'll lay both options out side by side. We sell both, so we have no reason to push one over the other.

What happens before the first plank goes down
Flatness first
A plank is only as flat as the floor underneath it. Click-together LVP is unforgiving of dips and humps: it flexes, the joints work loose, and you get a hollow or clicking sound in spots. Every manufacturer publishes how flat the subfloor needs to be, and we check against that requirement. If the floor needs patching, grinding or leveling, we tell you up front and it goes into the price before you agree to anything.
Moisture from below
Homes here sit over crawlspaces or concrete slabs, and both can carry moisture. A waterproof plank won't rot, but moisture trapped underneath can still cause odor, mold or problems with the subfloor itself. We check conditions and follow the manufacturer's requirements for vapor protection, because skipping that step is one of the fastest ways to void a product warranty.
Expansion, transitions and trim
Floating floors need room to move. We leave the expansion space the manufacturer calls for at walls and fixed objects, plan clean transitions at doorways and other flooring, and finish the edges so the room looks complete. Those details are what keep a floor flat and quiet for years.
Flat, dry and given room to move: that's what keeps a plank floor quiet for years.
Luxury Vinyl Plank questions
Is luxury vinyl plank really waterproof?
Many planks have waterproof cores, which means the plank itself won't swell when it gets wet. The floor as a whole isn't a sealed tub, though. Water that runs to the edges or gets underneath can still reach the subfloor. A waterproof plank gives you time to clean up a spill or a dog bowl; it doesn't replace fixing a leak.
Why are some LVP products so much cheaper than others?
Usually it comes down to the wear layer, the core and the locking system. A thin wear layer scratches and dulls sooner, a soft core telegraphs every dip in the subfloor, and a weak lock lets joints open up. Two planks can look identical in a photo and perform very differently. We'd rather show you a smaller set of planks we trust than a wall of cheap ones.
What's included in your price for luxury vinyl plank installation?
One upfront price covers moving your furniture, tearing out the old floor, installing the new one and hauling the old material away. You won't get a low number on the phone and a pile of add-ons at the door. If the subfloor needs leveling or repair, we tell you before the price is final, not halfway through the job.
Can LVP go in a bathroom or laundry room?
Often it's one of the best choices for those rooms, because the plank won't swell from splashes or a damp towel left on the floor. We pay extra attention to edges, transitions and the gap around tubs and toilets, since that's where water tends to find its way down.
What warranty comes with an LVP floor?
There are two parts. The product carries the manufacturer's warranty, which on select planks runs up to 30 years or longer, and builder-grade lines carry much shorter coverage. Our labor is backed by a lifetime warranty on qualifying installations. We'll show you exactly what applies to the plank you choose before you sign anything.
