Barry's Carpet & Flooring, formerly Dye Carpet, is a flooring company based in Norfolk, Virginia, serving homeowners across Hampton Roads: Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown, Poquoson, Smithfield, Carrollton and Gloucester Point. Our showroom is at 2811 Lafayette Blvd, and the company is owned by Barry Duke.

We install luxury vinyl plank, carpet, laminate and tile. What we're really selling, though, is a simpler way to buy a floor. You get one upfront price that takes care of everything: furniture moving, tear-out, installation and disposal. No haggling, no hidden charges and no bait-and-switch pricing. The product on your quote is the product that gets installed, and the number on your quote is the number you pay.

Barry Duke built this company on three principles: do what you say, treat people right, and do the job right the first time. They're simple to write down and harder to live by, and they shape everything about how we work.

Do what you say. When we give you a price, it's the whole price. When we tell you what's included, it's included. If we find something during the estimate that needs fixing before a new floor can go in, like a soft spot in the subfloor or an uneven slab, we tell you then and put it in writing, not after the old floor is already in the dumpster.

Treat people right. That starts with being straight about products. We're not a budget flooring company, and we don't pretend to be. We'd rather show you a smaller selection of quality products that will hold up than a showroom full of floors chosen to win on price. If a cheaper option will genuinely serve you well, we'll say so. If it won't, we'll say that too.

Do the job right the first time. Most flooring problems trace back to the parts of the job nobody sees: an unlevel subfloor, a skipped moisture check, a thin pad, missing expansion space. We take those steps seriously because they're what decide whether a floor still looks good in ten years. It's also why we can back our labor with a lifetime warranty on qualifying installations.

We pair that workmanship with products from manufacturers that stand behind them, with warranties up to 30 years and beyond on select products. Every carpet job includes an upgrade to an 8-lb pad at no extra charge, because a dense pad is one of the cheapest ways to make carpet last longer and feel better underfoot.
